York Day Early Learning thanks everyone for supporting us though Give Local York!

Give Local York is our community’s largest one-day giving event. It is a chance for York Day Early Learning to raise much-needed dollars and awareness and to tap into the GOOD that makes our community special. We’ve pulled together some information to show you the impact of York Day in our community, our need for additional support, and how you can be part of the positive energy vibes surrounding this day!

Last year, our community pulled together to bring two specially trained therapy dogs to York Day. Since Annie and Finnick joined the team, York Day has experienced a significant reduction in negative behaviors. These incredible results have led to worldwide organizations reaching out to learn more from YDEL’s model. Ongoing training, veterinarian care, and food costs are needed to support the ongoing success of this innovative practice.

As York’s longest independently operating childcare center, we aim to be the agency of choice for high-quality early learning for children of working families throughout York County. With a commitment to ensuring access to early childhood education, YDEL provides scholarships to over 80% of our families. Our focus on innovative learning and inclusivity has created a wait list of over 600 students. We rely on community support to give more kids a great beginning for a bright future!

The team at York Day can’t wait to jump into the fun! It is well known that Give Local York founder Bob Pullo loves his oatmeal raisin cookies, so York Day students and team members will bake a big supply to keep his energy high! YDEL Executive Director Sara Bradley will also travel around York in one of the “Kindness Caravans” to spread good energy. Our kids are excited to be part of giving back, and we’re embracing this as a learning opportunity about the power of community and giving.
